Ghana: Sanitation Committee Engages YEA on Operational Strategies

The Parliamentary Committee on Sanitation and Water Resources has held a strategic engagement with the management of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) to assess its operational challenges and explore potential areas of support—particularly in sanitation and youth empowerment.

Chairman of the Committee, Hon. John Oti Bless, underscored the significance of understanding the agency’s real-time challenges in order to make informed and impactful recommendations.

“This engagement forms part of our oversight mandate, which is critical to ensuring that government agencies are functioning efficiently and delivering on their core objectives,” he stated.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Hon. Oti Bless reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to supporting interventions that promote youth employment and drive national development through strategic partnerships.

Though specific details of the discussions were not disclosed, the Chairman highlighted the committee’s proactive approach in identifying practical solutions to the rising challenge of youth unemployment.

When questioned about the committee’s position on the YEA-Zoomlion contract, Hon. Oti Bless indicated that all relevant insights will be detailed in the committee’s final report.
