The recent conclusion of the 48th Session of the Executive Council of the African Union highlighted significant advancements made by the Pan-African Parliament as it endorsed its activity report. The Council praised the Parliament’s activity report, particularly under the current Bureau’s leadership and since the reinstatement of the Clerk of Parliament.

Foreign Affairs Ministers recognized the alignment of the Pan-African Parliament’s activities with its 2024–2028 Strategic Plan. They appreciated its oversight functions, including involvement in AU Election Observation Missions and discussions around justice and reparations.

Additionally, the Pan-African Parliament received commendations for its parliamentary diplomacy , notably the successful hosting of the P20 conference in collaboration with South Africa’s National Assembly. It also secured a Joint Declaration with the European Parliament focused on the restitution of African artefacts, following an effective parliamentary summit.
