The Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum West, Hon. Dickson Kyere-Duah, has rolled out two landmark initiatives aimed at transforming education and deepening constituency engagement — the launch of the Berekum West Education Fund and the commissioning of a modern Constituency Secretariat and Office Complex at Jinijini.
Both events, held in the constituency, attracted large gatherings of traditional leaders, clergy, civil society representatives, party executives, opinion leaders, and citizens from home and abroad, underscoring the strong community support for the MP’s vision.

Education Fund to Support Needy Students
Speaking at the launch of the Education Fund, Hon. Kyere-Duah explained that the initiative was designed to support brilliant but needy students, provide critical teaching and learning materials for schools, and strengthen educational institutions across Berekum West.
He emphasized that “education remains the greatest equalizer and a vital tool for unlocking opportunities for the youth of Berekum West.”
The Fund will operate with clear guidelines and accountability measures, overseen by a committee of respected personalities from education, traditional authority, civil society, and professional bodies. It will be financed through fundraising events, corporate sponsorships, alumni associations, and contributions from citizens both at home and abroad.

The launch received overwhelming support, with generous donations and pledges from individuals, professional associations, and corporate bodies. Traditional leaders and dignitaries commended the MP for his foresight and pledged continuous support to sustain the Fund.
Constituency Office Complex Commissioned
At Jinijini, Hon. Kyere-Duah also commissioned a Constituency Secretariat and Office Complex to bring parliamentary services closer to the people. The facility will serve as the official office of the MP, housing administrative staff and providing a one-stop centre for documentation, stakeholder engagement, and community outreach.
The Secretariat is also expected to coordinate social intervention programmes, including the newly launched Education Fund, thereby linking parliamentary representation with tangible service delivery.
“This office is not mine — it belongs to the people of Berekum West. It is your space, your platform, and your avenue to engage with me directly as your representative in Parliament,” Hon. Kyere-Duah stated.
Traditional and religious leaders who attended the commissioning hailed the initiative as a milestone in constituency service delivery, urging residents to make good use of the Secretariat by channelling their concerns and development ideas through it.
A Vision for Transformation
Both the Education Fund and the Constituency Secretariat form part of Hon. Kyere-Duah’s broader vision to build a constituency where education drives socio-economic transformation and where governance remains accessible and accountable.
The commissioning ceremonies were marked by prayers for peace and development, cultural displays, and musical performances, creating a celebratory atmosphere.
Stakeholders expressed optimism that with sustained support and community ownership, these initiatives will leave a lasting legacy, transforming lives and uplifting the socio-economic development of Berekum West.
